Eyes Reference by Fyuvix Eyes Reference by Fyuvix
A sheet of eyes I came up with after reflecting over my old sketchbooks. I missed the wide range of different anime eyes, but I never liked how they weren't expressive enough. So I tried to combine my old anime style with my more animated one. I encourage those of you out there who are limited by drawing one style, to try and incorporate a wider range, whether you be an anime artist, or furry, or cartoonist, try to dabble in other genres just to put yourself out of your comfort zone. You might find some things you like about styles you never thought you would n.n

So Confusion i'm confused.. Are these anime eyes or not? and if they are mixed , would it be considered anime? Sealand emote

I don't consider it anime, but I guess that term is so subjective these days. XD

Thanks, I've been very unsure of my style, and I'm sick of using Sonic Style for my characters. I'm glad you posted this, as these are very helpful.

Thank you for this :-) I have been trying to expand my drawing style lately, and when I typed in "eyes" or even "cartoon eyes", only anime eyes would pop up :-X I've been searching for a reference sheet as this to help my abilities grow to their fullest potential, especially with me taking an animation course next year in school.
Again, I am very grateful for this piece :+favlove:

Nice work and style! I like how you draw eyes. This could could really come in handy- all the eyes I draw are usually in a pseudo-anime style =D

You're very welcome- this'll be a big helping hand for young aspiring artists that are new to the scene, like a couple of my friends, or young punks that are still learning tricks of the trade, like me :XD: :aww:

lol bri! funny story!

i was searching for some eye references because i am looking to edit my style a bit, so i typed drawing eyes in the DA search thingy and a bunch of images popped up along with this one. i scrolled down and was like--oh! that's bri's! your name wasn't by the image or anything.

so long story short--you know your art is amazing when someone can pick it out of a crowd instantaneously!

I fav'd this because 1. they're hot eyes and 2. ...I need a place where I can find this should I need it. X) I imagine the dotty eyes won't last long for my human characters... I wanna draw real eyes. I wanna be...where the people are...I wann--ahem.

Good job on those eyes. X)

Quite nice and very helpful. Also phenomenally creepy, as it looks like a block of flesh with eyes coming out at odd places and in odd directions. ;P

Man, you draw some good eyes! I suspect I'll put this to good use in the future. Every so often I try to stray away from the Warner Bros. style in my work, and I find it hard to do non-cartoony eyes, but this ought to be a huge help. Bravo!

Oh dude, ja, I know how it can be with consistancy x.x I total suck at that, man. XD I can't help you there. For noses, I suggest drawing really ugly caricatures of many different types of peoples, actors, etc. It really helps just drawing noses on people you dont mind uglying up XD

That feels like a really good learning idea. I've noted that the cliche for "beautiful human face" (in most cartooning) is to have the nose nearly disappear! If the noses are detailed or large, the cliche is that is supposed to help indicate "ugly face". If I only cartoon the disappearing-nose cliche, it becomes very difficult to look and see how the noses are really structured and how they vary.
