The last bit is particularly reassuring (especially because my beginning ones look more like the thrid from the left there and it can be a bit demotivating to see tutorials with pretty fleshed out gestures T.T) Thank you so much! Oh wow, thanks for this! When I did gesture drawing in a life drawing class a few years ago, I was too focused on getting every single detail down and all the proportions correct...I guess I was doing it wrong the whole time. XD
Oh this definitely would come in most handy for me. I've always wanted to try gesture drawings since I heard that they were great for exercising poses (I learned this at Art School but I couldn't grasp the concept...). But yeah, this looks really concise and to the point so I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks for sharing!
Great tutorial. I know a few folks who could benefit from reading this. I've tried to explain gesture drawing to others and it just doesn't seem to click for them. The benefits of rendering the figure in the simplest form in a short time are immeasurable.
